Hi, my name is Emily Sidwell. I am originally from Southern California. I studied photography at Southern Virginia University from 2017-2021 where I received my Bachelors of Arts. After exploring many avenues of photography, I kept coming back to my passion for portraiture.

 

I create portrait abstractions. My goal is to make my client feel like they are a part of the art, and have pieces that mean something more than a crisp documentation of a moment. As cameras are getting sharper and more detailed, I feel myself gravitating in the other direction. I aim to create obscurities and compositions that push the boundaries of mainstream photography and to make art an experience that the subject being photographed can actively participate in.
